Yes, the Marines Museum is suitable for children. We have oodles of fun things to do and experience. We have even been awarded the ‘Kidsproof’ quality label by Museumkids! So much so you can even throw your birthday party at the Museum. Even though the museum focuses on things military, it is perfectly suited for people of all ages as you will not see any shocking images anywhere. For ‘Marines on a Mission’ and the ‘Fire!’ shooting game, the recommended age is: 8+.
Only smaller bags (max. dimensions 25x25x25cm) are allowed to be taken into the museum. Other bags can be safely left at the cloakroom, which also has free lockers.
To keep the museum clean and tidy and to protect our exhibits, food and drink are not allowed inside the museum. However, our workshop space De Kajuit (The Cabin) is available for you to enjoy your home-brought food. This is where you can tuck into your home-brought cake or other goodies as part of a children’s party for instance, as long as you leave The Cabin clean and tidy when you leave. Coffee and tea are available in the museum hall.
No, dogs are not allowed inside in the museum (nor any other pets). An exception is made for assistance and guide dogs.
The Marines Museum is easily accessible to and offers facilities for the disabled. All floors are served by a lift. In addition, we have a disabled toilet and a wheelchair that is available to be used. Right in front of the Museum entrance, we have a disabled parking area.
